Pupils' Terms and Conditions

All driving instructors are self-employed franchisees of Ignition Driving School and your agreement for driving lessons is made purely between you and your instructor. Ignition Driving School acts solely as an agent for your driving instructor and does not employ them.

To start taking driving lessons, you must have a valid UK provisional driving licence. This must be shown to your instructor on your first lesson. Failure to do so, will result in your lesson being cancelled and you may still be charged for it.

Your driving instructor has the right to cancel a driving lesson at any time. This may be due to poor weather, illness, car maintenance or similar and / or any other unforeseen circumstance. Where possible an alternative date / time will be given.

You (the pupil) must give your driving instructor at least 24 hours notice should you wish to cancel your driving lesson. Failure to do so will result in your driving instructor charging you full price for the driving lesson.

All arrangements for driving lessons, including pick-up and drop-off locations and duration are to be organised directly through your instructor in advance. If you (the pupil) wish to reduce the length of a previously arranged driving lesson, you must give your driving instructor at least 24 hours notice. Failure to do so will result in your driving instructor charging you for the full duration of the driving lesson booked.

Payment

Ignition Driving School offers varying prices and special offers across the UK, which means the lesson prices you will see on this website are only valid in the postcode area you have supplied. Should you change location, please be aware that the lesson pricing may be different and the number of lessons will be changed accordingly to reflect the new rate.

All lessons must be paid for at the time of the lesson or in advance.

You can pay for your driving lessons by cash, cheque or credit/debit card.

Cash:

To pay by cash, please pay your instructor directly on the day or in advance of your driving lesson. If you are not able to pay for your lesson then your instructor may refuse to conduct your lesson.

Cheque:

To pay by cheque, please make this payable to your instructor. No cheques can be accepted that are made out to Ignition Driving School.

Credit or debit card:

To pay by debit or credit card, we accept most major credit and debit cards. To pay using a card please go to www.driving-lesson.co.uk/pay. We use Streamline, which is the largest UK card payment system. Alternatively, you can call us on 0800 002 9278 and we can take a payment over the phone. Please note there is a charge of 50p per lesson with a maximum fee of £5.

Refunds:

Ignition Driving School holds no responsibility for refunds. Ignition Driving School takes card payments on behalf of the instructor, however, we are acting purely as a handling agent. All refunds are at the instructor’s discretion and must be taken up with them.

Gift vouchers can only be exchanged for driving lessons with Ignition Driving School.com LTD.

Driving tests

All practical driving tests MUST be confirmed with your instructor prior to completing the booking. This is to ensure both your instructor and the car are available for the test.

Your instructor reserves the right to refuse you the use of the car for driving tests in accordance with the rules as laid down by the Driver Vehicle Standards Agency. This also includes tests booked without confirmation from your instructor (see above).
